Picture it… The year was 2020… it was a cold November night…
Just kidding! Kind of. It was November and 2020 but I’m definitely not going to write you a ridiculously long story before getting to the pattern.
I know you are here for the pattern and I hope that you will sign up for my blog and maybe we become friends or something?
Let’s get to it! First of all, I’m not a pattern writer. I make things up as I go and hope for the best and usually it ends up looking good. I never wrote them down so then I can’t make things again. So if I made mistakes writing this pattern, PLEASE comment so I can correct it!
Bobbling Cup Cozy Pattern
Hook size: 4.5 MM
Yarn: Worsted Weight (I used Red Heart Super Saver)
Stitches: Chain (CH), Half Double Crochet (HDC), Bobble Stitch (see instructions below)
Bobble: Yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch (or space as described in the pattern), yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull up a loop (there should be 7 loops on your hook). Yarn over and pull through all loops on hook.
Ch 29 and sl st together. Make sure the chain doesn’t get twisted when you do this.
R1. Ch 2, HDC the same Stitch as the CH and in the back loops of the chain all the way around. Sl St to the top of the first HDC.
R2. CH 2, Bobble Stitch in the same st as the CH 2. SC in the next Stitch. [Bobble ST, SC] around. Sl St to the Ch 2 (28 Stitches)
R3. Ch 2, SC in the same st as the CH 2. Bobble Stitch in the next stitch. [SC, Bobble Stitch] around. Sl ST to the Ch 2
R4-R8. Repeat R2 and R3 (alternating)
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Enjoy your accessorized cup!
I hope you enjoy this pattern. Please comment if there is anything I can fix in the pattern.
